Military and Emergency Services Health Australia (MESHA) is a collaborative research institute dedicated to actively informing and improving policy, programs and services for current and former serving Australian military and emergency service personnel and their families. MESHA’s purpose is to optimise the mental health, wellbeing and functioning of current and former serving Australian military members, emergency service personnel and their families through the delivery and support of culturally and industry informed research and support services. This is achieved through the development of national and international interdisciplinary research networks renowned and trusted to deliver high quality, robust and translational research outcomes.  MESHA is a charity of The Hospital Research Foundation Group (THRFG).

 

Under the direction of the Operations Manager - MESHA, Program Mentors will be assigned a role for each workshop or GEARS course as a mentor contributor.

 

Role responsibilities include:

  • Gain a basic understanding of program materials and support the facilitators delivery of the programs.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Operations Manager throughout the booking, publicity, and setup phases to stay informed and address any questions.
  • Collaborate with the MESHA Programs team and facilitator prior to the workshops to understand the mentor expectation for the session.
  • Contribute when prompted with mentoring examples relevant to workshop content either face-to-face or online.
  • Participate and contribute in the program evaluation to determine lessons learnt and support ongoing workshop quality improvements and updates, where relevant.

You will ideally have:

All programs – Program Mentor

  • Previously participated in the program.
  • Tertiary qualification and relevant experience.
  • Previous experience with facilitating training will be highly regarded.
  • Previous experience in a service role will be highly regarded.

Please note: Candidates will need to undergo a National Police Check prior to commencement.
