About the role

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager People, Culture and Safety, the primary purpose of this position is to drive a positive safety culture and provide specialist support to improve the management of health, safety and wellbeing across THRF Group. 

 

As part of the People and Culture team, this role is responsible for working collaboratively with managers and their teams around local WHS requirements and successfully implementing WHS strategies and initiatives.

 

This role also works closely with the Head of Legal, Risk and Governance to manage risk including risk assessments, maintaining risk registers, documenting treatment plans and reporting on risk management outcomes.

 

Role responsibilities include:

  • Develop, review and improve the WHS and injury management system, including policy and procedures, to maintain legislative and regulatory compliance
  • Work collaboratively with the management team to achieve strong engagement and drive a robust safety culture
  • Promote safe work behaviours and develop safe work procedures
  • Develop, schedule and deliver WHS and injury management training and education for THRF Group including induction
  • Work with the Head of Legal, Risk and Governance in the management of risk including risk assessment, treatment plans and controls.
  • Conduct investigations of safety related incidents, liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure any corrective actions are implemented
  • Deliver WHS and wellbeing projects
  • Develop and implement the WHS audit schedule and coordinate emergency plans including annual emergency and evacuation training for all sites
  • Define and set targets and monitor performance in relation to WHS and work related injury metrics
  • Develop and champion the wellbeing program and related initiatives
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Return to Work Coordinator

 

About you:

To be successful in the role you will ideally have;

  • Demonstrated relevant experience in a WHS and RTW role and / or qualifications relevant to health and safety (or similar)
  • A sound knowledge of WHS legislation and related Codes of Practice
  • Experience delivering WHS training and managing WHS activities and projects
  • Working knowledge of the principles of WHS management systems
  • Strong experience in undertaking incident investigations and risk assessments
  • Ability to influence and lead change
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting and analysis
