The Hospital Research Foundation Group (THRFG) is seeking an outstanding Grants and Contracts Officer to join our team on a permanent basis. As the Grants and Contracts Officer, you will undertake key tasks relating to the operation of THRFG’s grant funding program, including managing funding contracts, reporting and compliance activities, as well as assisting with the effective coordination and management of other Grants unit activities. To be successful in this role you will be passionate about supporting research and health services, strive for continuous improvement and innovation, and have a proven record in grant program support including productively and proactively engaging internal and external stakeholders. Your strong customer-centric focus will ensure you build strong working relationships to help deliver THRFG’s strategic objectives. About THRFG THRFG exists for every South Australian. We're looking for individuals who possess: - A relevant post-secondary qualification (Tertiary/TAFE or other) in an area relating to health, science, business administration, community development or similar will be highly regarded, or a demonstrated equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Experience in research grant program administrative support, or equivalent activities in a research-related environment, especially related to project reporting and compliance.
- Experience working with grants management software and databases (such as SmartyGrants).
- Proficiency in the Microsoft 365, particularly Word and Excel.
- Ability to show good judgement, initiative and discretion.
About the Role - Support pre-award funding round administration, including documentation preparation, compliance checks, and application collation.
- Ensure timely and effective communication with grant applicants, recipients and institutions about funding round and grant management related matters.
- Manage contractual and compliance processes post-award, including drafting standard contracts.
- Request and review progress reports from grant holders, escalating issues as necessary.
- Maintain the online grants management system and associated records, including creating funding rounds, building forms, and updating data.
- Drive continuous improvement of grant management systems and processes.
- Provide support for researcher-focussed events such as grant-holder inductions and professional development workshops.
- Foster positive relationships with the health and medical research community.
