The Hospital Research Foundation Group - Military and Emergency Services Health Australia (THRFG MESHA), is a nationally recognised collaborative research and development centre delivering culturally informed, translational research and programs that shape policy, services and systems.

 

At THRFG MESHA, we exist for one reason: to improve the mental health, wellbeing and functioning of current and former serving Australian military members, emergency service personnel — and the families who stand beside them.

 

About the role

THRFG MESHA Clinical Facilitators deliver purpose developed psychoeducation and mental health skills programs to current and former Australian military members and emergency service personnel groups. Supported by an experienced program delivery team the Military & Emergency Services Cultural competency and GEARS 12wk workshop program consists of 2x3hr sessions/wk, your primary responsibilities would be:

  • Deliver and facilitate workshops in line with program objectives
  • Foster participant engagement, inclusion, and wellbeing throughout delivery
  • Provide leadership and guidance to teaching teams during workshop delivery
  • Contribute to the development of facilitator capability building and best practice
  • Support workshop program planning, evaluation and continuous improvement

About you

  • Qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or similar
  • Military or Emergency Services lived experience or demonstrated experience working with these populations
  • Willingness to undertake training in Military and Emergency Service Cultural Competency
  • Experience delivering training or facilitating groups (highly regarded)
  • Background working in a mental health setting
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to build trust and support diverse stakeholder engagement
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and enthusiastic team contributor
  • Resilient and flexible, able to thrive in a small team environment
