 THRF Group Parkinson's is seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Client Services Coordinator. This full-time position is based in Deakin, ACT and offers an opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of people with Parkinson's Disease and other related movement disorders, as well as their family carers.     About us    The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) Group is an impactful and dynamic not-for-profit, supporting health and medical research at hospitals across South Australia. THRF Group Parkinson’s is a not-for-profit organisation that provides support and information to people living with Parkinson’s and other related neurological and movement disorders, their carers, family, community, and health professionals. The service provides support across the continuum of the care, providing expert information and support services that no private or government agency offers.    We are a family-friendly community organisation and understand the importance of work/life balance.      About the role    As the Client and Community Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering services and activities for people living with Parkinson’s and other movement disorders, as well as their families and carers. Working closely with the Wellbeing team, you will ensure an integrated response to the needs of our clients. Additionally, you will oversee the Referral and Intake process, provide operational support, and assist in the reception and general office environment.    Your key responsibilities will include:  Maintain support, education and recreational groups for people living with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders and their family members in metropolitan and country areas, in response to need. 
 Serve as the first point of contact for walk-in clients and telephone enquiries during business hours, providing initial support, guidance, and referral pathways (internal/external) to meet client needs. 
 Ensure the entire office is well maintained, welcoming and inviting including the upkeep of information sheet provisions and library services. 
 Maintain referral database to ensure contact maintained with client through all steps in referral receipt through to relevant support delivery. Ensure all referrals are managed professionally and new clients are allocated to an appropriate person and/or program 
 About you  Highly developed community development skills. 
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
 Ability to work creatively with wider team to produce outcomes for clients. 
 Demonstrated ability to balance and organise demanding workloads and competing priorities 
 An understanding of the needs of individuals with chronic conditions and their families. 
 Sound knowledge of group facilitation principles and community services relevant to the client group. 
 Demonstrated relevant workplace experience. 
 Current employment screenings or a willingness to undergo them. 
 Hold a relevant qualification in an area relating to Social Science, Community Support, Disability Services, or Aged Care, or equivalent experience (Desired but not essential).
